- My Sportster External 28.8 came with Quick Link II by Smith Micro. I
- like it for it's simplicity and the fact that it has a DOS version
- (that even can handle WP5.1 files). It works find for me. To be fair,
- I don't use the fax heavily, and I don't normally leave the fax
- receive enabled unless I'm expecteing a fax. All settings are the
- default.

- I had some initial problems until I figured out that the software
- really did know what it was doing when it tried to receive faxes with
- ATS0=0 (i.e. auto-answer disabled). It watches for the "RING" string
- from the modem to detect a call.
